Talent wanted

Freelance iOS UX/UI designer.

We are looking for a freelance UX/UI designer to work with us on AllergyIQ and the iOS ventures we have in the pipeline. Project-based, remote-friendly, and direct collaboration with the founder and the iOS engineering side.

The role

Where this work sits.

AllergyIQ is a native iOS app in active beta — it logs allergy symptoms, parses lab uploads, and pulls in pollen, air quality, and wearable data. The visual and interaction design has been carried by engineering so far, and we have reached the point where we need a designer who lives in the mobile space to take the experience further. You would shape flows, screens, and the design system across AllergyIQ and the next iOS ventures we are putting into the workshop.

What you would work on

  • Designing new flows and screens for AllergyIQ — symptom logging, lab uploads, recovery insights, and reports patients want to share with their care team.
  • Maintaining and extending the AllergyIQ design system so screens stay consistent as features roll out.
  • Producing interactive prototypes (Figma is fine) we can put in front of beta testers before engineering commits to building.
  • Handing off cleanly to the iOS team — assets, tokens, and edge cases worked out, not just pretty mockups.
  • Helping shape the visual language for the next iOS ventures we are starting in the workshop.

Three areas you would own

Where you would have the most impact.

These are the three deliverables we expect from this engagement, and the ones we would measure success against.

  • Flow and screen design

End-to-end flows for the parts of the app where users currently get stuck — onboarding, lab uploads, recurring symptom logging, and the reports patients want to share with their doctors.

  • Design system upkeep

A working set of components, tokens, and patterns the iOS team can pull from week to week, kept honest as the product evolves rather than left to rot after the initial pass.

  • Prototypes that test ideas

Click-through prototypes for the calls we are not sure about, used in lightweight beta sessions before we commit engineering time to building them.

About you

Who we are looking for.

You do not need to tick every box. If the work sounds like your thing, please get in touch.

  • A few years of work designing native mobile apps — iOS specifically, ideally with shipped work in the App Store.
  • Comfortable thinking in SwiftUI primitives (navigation stacks, sheets, lists, system colours, dynamic type) so the work hands off cleanly rather than fighting the platform.
  • Strong on flows and interaction — not just static screen mockups.
  • Self-directed and responsive — this is a freelance engagement, not a managed role.
  • Bonus: prior work in health, medical, or wellness apps where the accessibility and regulatory bar is higher than average.
